I am a licensed psychotherapist in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley area providing both short-term and ongoing psychotherapy for adult individuals and couples.
In the therapy relationship, I help my clients carve out a comfortable and protected space in their lives where they can work through whatever is troubling them.
I bring a very open-minded and collaborative spirit to my work with great respect for the efforts you’ve already made towards change. My approach is highly interactive: we will build upon your self-knowledge and my impressions of your experiences.
I have helped clients suffering from problems including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and harmful addictive behaviors. Through my years of practice, I have come to deeply understand and help people who:
Want closer connections with friends and family, but feel blocked by emotional barriers.
Would like to share their lives with others but are having trouble making friendships and/or romantic relationships.
Struggle to lessen the impact of trauma and painful childhood experiences.
Want to know their feelings more clearly; or, alternatively, know them very clearly, but are often overwhelmed by them.
Were raised in another country and need help adjusting to America.
Were raised in America with immigrant parents and feel challenged by all the differences between their parents’ values and their own.
Straddle two or more identities—be they race, culture, class or gender—and want to better integrate them.
Are trying to figure out what kind of work is meaningful whether they are just starting out in their twenties, or coming to a mid-life crossroad.
If you can relate to any of these dilemmas, please read on to find out more about me and my practice.
